I highly recommend folks participate rather than observe life - participate in every opportunity you are presented with as opposed to being shy. I thoroughly enjoy deep conversations about any topic, with any person, as this allows me not only to better understand the people and environment around me, but to far better understand myself. What I have found most baffling so far is how discussing politics and religion - two major sources of conflict - has been made so taboo in many regions around the world, that many seemingly well-informed individuals avoid these (often toxic) topics of interest (TOI; as in, persons of interest, or POI) at all costs! How in the world can we logically and peacefully get through our differences if we don't ever discuss these??? Why else do we think wars continue to take place '''and gain support by citizens from UN member states''' today?!? | I thoroughly enjoy deep conversations about any topic, with any person, as this allows me not only to better understand the people and environment around me, but to far better understand myself. NAME
CHARBEL HADDAD
(Charbel, named by my faaaaar-more-religious-mother-than-I after the Lebanese Maronite Saint Charbel; and Haddad as in Blacksmith, or Smith)
PROFILE MISSION
What do you care about most in life at the moment?
Mitigating conflict by empowering everyone.
What is your overarching ultimate goal, at the moment?
Creating understanding to help remove unnecessary fears from people's minds. Fear of their future stability, fear for their loved ones, fear of 'the others' who are deemed different and therefore untrustworthy and/or incapable of collaboration, consensus or civil and constructive communication.
How do you WANT to spend your time, at the moment?
Building an intuitive, inclusive, universal, empirical, collaborative and engaging learning platform based on everything human beings have come to know to this date, updated in real-time and accessible by anyone, anywhere at zero cost to the learners.
REFLECT
If your answers to these 3 questions don't line up, then there may be room for change and improvement to help you get there - if you care enough to do just that.
ENVISION
If you can for just a moment COMPLETELY forget the way the world is today, everything and everyone in it, and instead imagine your most ideal environment, how would you personally describe it?
I see a healthy intertwined and interdependent environment full of beings who are all aware and understanding of one another's needs, where human individuals had access to all the tools and support they needed to have explored their fullest potential by ages 11-17, all of whom are more than ready to focus creatively on exactly what it is they choose to focus on, at any given point in their lives. For example, they can all be as ready and prepared as any rocket scientist may be ready for a mission to mars, but just as free and ready to express and nurture their artistic capacities for the remainder of their lives.
PLAN AND ACT
So now, what are the steps we can take to make YOUR vision a reality? Utopian? Perhaps yes, but real change begins with a controversial vision. If we can't envision something different than what we have today, then we will spend our lives doing the same thing every day and expecting change - the definition of insanity, according to some who were considered "smart people" in our human history.
IMAGINE
"You may say that I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope one day, you will join us, and the world will be as one."
The singer wasn't wrong. Life doesn't have to be difficult and miserable, all we need to do is talk about it until we figure it out. Today, we have all the dialogue tools we need to accomplish this and to fix all of our problems. So what are we waiting for?
INTERESTS AND EXPERTISE
What can you do and what would you like to do?
I am eclectic in taste across the board, from food and music, all the way to learning and doing. This means that I enjoy reading and writing about a variety of different topics as well as engaging with various industries in all parts of the world. I thoroughly enjoy contributing to strategy forming, shaping and defining missions, especially if they relate to human advancement of learning and knowledge sharing. I'm equally happy to take part in initiating, planning, participating in the on-ground execution of any given project, as well as assessing its ongoing and overall quality of processes, output and its closing lessons learned. I intentionally avoid endeavours that focus primarily on monetary gain.
I was (still am, sort of) looking for a PhD in Machine Learning and how it can be leveraged to evolve Human Learning and developing a just global society. With or without such a PhD, I will continue researching and working on developing our collective understanding of this matter.
I currently work with a Startup in Vietnam (LinkPower), another in Canada (BAITS Global) and yet another in the USA (Launchpad23), all of which prioritize empowerment, access to equal opportunity, and human prosperity, leading to a more just society.
I'm heading to Colombia soon to begin exploring Latin America and how I could constructively contribute my time to the local communities there.
MUSINGS
Artefacts or concepts that you are working on or care to share with the world.
I started putting together these words (A Guide to Your Own Personal Dimension) a couple of years ago, wanting to produce a world music album as a musical story backdrop to the spoken words.
I recently configured the basic requirements to run OneHouse on MediaWiki and open a universal dialogue to help us reinvent our reality. I will leverage this site (and hope that many of you will eventually join me) to provide my thoughts on realistically plausible and actionable change that can bring us closer to universal freedom and global harmony.
I often write down short blurbs of experiences in Google Notes, previously in Samsung Notes. I'll share some of these in here as part of a Human Library that we could build together, if you care to do the same and share your stories. I guess I now have to say something to all the Apple users out there. I'm not a fan of locked down proprietary hardware andor software. I believe in the global open source movements taking place. I'm also not a fan of forced behaviours of any sort; I'm an advocate of raising awareness by providing access to rich and humane learning experiences, instead of creating and enforcing endless rules (just look at legislation today and you'll understand the inevitable slippery slope of what has now become an accepted mishmash of unreasonable complexities where court systems can barely make heads or tails of what should be done, and justice is often left unserved).
OTHER THOUGHTS
Curiosity may have killed a few cats, but without it dullness gnaws away slowly at the life of every other cat that's ever existed. Don't be shy. Be curious. Stay curious.
Participate. Life is lived through its current experiences, not its memories; for memories will fade until they appear to have never existed at all.
Don't just live and let live, live and help live. That is to say, when you learn, teach; and when you have, give.
To be curious, is to be.
We are innovators. We are explorers and discoverers, constantly learning and growing as we feed off of our existential reality; we are imagination machines who are born curious and hungry for awe. We explore, we discover, and we create, in perpetuity.
I highly recommend folks participate rather than observe life - participate in every opportunity you are presented with as opposed to being shy. Swing dancing is fun, even when solo dancing; Tango teaches me posture; Jujitsu is awesome "body chess"; Kungfu forces my body to move in different ways (Yoga does to, but my body prefers Kungfu over Yoga); TaiChi connects my mind to my body and all its tiny little muscles and the natural timing to get them all moving in harmony at all times; percussion instruments like Bongos allow me to surf the frequencies with artists from all around the world, allowing me to enjoy the rollercoaster ride that is always a surprise as I improvise to the feeling I get from the sounds and sights around me; singing freely and with zero inhibitions feels wonderful - if you can truly let go of your inhibitions (I had to be forced to sing at karaoke tv in East Asia before I learned to let go and embrace the idea, regardless of how bad I think I am at it, allowing me to improve my singing over time - Michael Buble's rendition of Feeling Good is my go to song now); reading and writing regularly improve my language abilities and makes my relationships with myself and everyone around me much easier to understand, to share, and to enjoy.
