Is OneHouse currently free? How can it remain sustainable? Why make it free?
Yes, OneHouse and all its blueprint projects are currently, and will always remain free.
Onehouse is currently setup on an open source (free) Ubuntu Linux server operating system (latest stable distribution at the time of installation in late 2022).
It also uses open sources services including Nginx, MySql/MariaDB, PHP, certbot SSL (auto-renewed), Sendmail and MediWiki.
It is running on a virtual server slice that my brother already rents out for a friend who is hosting a website that aims to be corporate but with (I think) excellent SEG goals.
Technical Challenge: I was able to configure Sendmail and send a test email to my gmail account from this server. That said, I'm still uncertain if it will work correctly with multiple users accessing the platform at the same time. Please feel free to contact me if you care to troubleshoot and coordinate any fix that you may deem necessary. This way we can ensure a smooth operation for everyone involved.
I registered epangea.top for 10yrs because .TOP is one of the cheapest top-level domains to register.
ePangea simply represents a global unity and was available at the time of registration. I've concocted numerous names in the past such as HumanCurriculum, LifeManagementBodyOfKnowledge or LMBoK, LilBlueMarble (or a less polite, How to Train a Human), and so on. Some were new back in the day but are now in use for other purposes; some were already being used for other purposes; some were just inappropriate, I suppose.
The Linux server I use is paid for by my brother to support a good friend in their equally important mission.
