	It turns out that expressions such as these are common for folks around the planet, all sharing in a sense or feeling of unity. We humans seem drawn to this behaviour regardless of how little we may understand it. Survival in numbers, or tribalism, is one neuropsychological explanation. Regardless of how ambitiously some of us may be striving for excellence on our own individual paths and journeys, it seems as though the collective and the individual are not mutually exclusive entities. They may as well be as intertwined and interdependent as a human brain and its vital organs. 	One House (pronounced ''1 'Ouse'' without the ''h'' sound) is what many of my local, percussionist friends in Sierra Leone would say to me when parting, often after a djembe session together (pronounced Jem-Beh).		One House (pronounced ''1 'Ouse'' without the ''h'' sound) is what many of my local, percussionist friends in Sierra Leone (SL) would say to me when parting, often after a djembe session together (pronounced Jem-Beh). We engraved this expression artistically on the djembe that we made together. Actually, they did the bulk of the work while I only got a pampered little crumb of the serious labour that's involved.

I learned on my very first day how these young men were fearfully referred to as''The beach boys" by many middle-to-upper class expats, considering them to be local robbers and trouble-makers. I quickly discovered (by the time the weekend rolled in) that most of these young men had ended up on the beach only to clean it every Sunday in exchange for a place to stay and live, too ashamed to return to their mothers back in their native countries after having failed to acquire some financial gains that they had sought after in these foreign lands - foreign to them as to me, since many came from neighbouring countries in Africa.		I learned on my very first day in SL how these young men were fearfully referred to as''The beach boys" by many middle-to-upper class expats, considering them to be local robbers and trouble-makers. I quickly discovered (by the time the weekend rolled in) that most of these young men had ended up on the beach only to clean it every Sunday in exchange for a place to stay and live, too ashamed to return to their mothers back in their native countries after having failed to acquire some financial gains that they had sought after in these foreign lands - foreign to them as to me, since many came from neighbouring countries in Africa.

	This story extends to so many all over the world, told in various ways and structures, but all with the same heartaches, challenges and objectives; to make mom or dad <or_insert_loved_ones_names_here> happy and proud. I thought at the time that One House was only uttered by my Sierra Leonean friends, on the western coast of Africa. I later found out that the Vietnamese, all the way out on the Eastern coast of Asia, say "Mot Nha," which also means... you guessed it: One House! The Senegalese (French language) equivalent I had learned while living there was "On Est Ensemble", meaning "We are together". So far, so simple?

	In the same way, we can then begin to define more detailed objectives that indicate whether we are on a path towards our vision or not. To reach these objectives, we can formulate various cost- and risk-aware strategies however we see fit.
